Formerly Responding to River and Flood Emergencies - Awareness
This six-hour classroom seminar, based upon NFPA 1670 requirements,
is geared toward all responders, and provides participants
with an overview of the river and flood rescue problem. Emphasis
is placed on responder safety and avoiding common fatal mistakes
through proper understanding of the elements involved, sufficient
preplanning and adequate training. Other
topics include basic hydrology and the moving-water environment,
equipment selection, scene management, responsibilities of
the local authority and medical considerations. This class is prudent for any person who in the course of their
duties may respond to a water related incident.
Prerequisites : None
In addition to our open enrollment courses held in Mercer County, New Jersey, we also offer a generous host agency program for those departments who wish to hold a class in their own locality, and can provide such training on either open or closed enrollment basis.
