Continuing from the point where Swiftwater Rescue - Technician left off, this two-day, advanced level program is devoted to the development of advanced skills necessary to handle some of the more complex problems commonly associated with swiftwater and flood rescue emergencies. Topics include in-depth coverage of water rescue, search management, night search and rescue, scene management of large scale disasters, advanced accessing techniques, weather complications and much more. Included are a half-day of classroom lectures, a four-hour night search and rescue problem, and a full day of advanced search techniques and practice.

Prerequisites : Swiftwater Rescue – Technician and IMS 200 (ICS)


Other Requirements : Physically capable of actively participating in all exercises. Students must provide their own PPE and personal gear

Other Recommended Courses : BLS for Healthcare Providers (Rescue Breathing / CPR / SAED)and Hazardous Materials – Awareness
